A Life of Faith, Broadcasting, Creativity, and a Passion for People
My name is William Combs, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout my life, it’s that God can use every experience, every opportunity, and even every unexpected turn to prepare us for something greater.
My journey began in the beautiful hills of Eastern Kentucky, where faith, family, music, and community became important parts of my life. From a young age, I developed a love for the church and a fascination with radio broadcasting. Little did I know how much those interests would shape my future.
But radio never left my heart.
In 1998, something incredible happened. My family and I had the opportunity to purchase WBFC 1470 AM, the very station where my broadcasting journey had begun. For the next 17 years, we operated the station together.
During those years, I had the privilege of interviewing gospel music artists, ministers, community leaders, and many others. Some of my greatest memories came from sitting across from someone, hearing their story, and sharing that conversation with our listeners. Those experiences strengthened my belief that everyone has a story worth hearing.
When we sold the station in 2015, an important chapter of my life came to a close. I eventually turned my creativity toward graphic design, establishing a business that allowed me to work with churches, ministries, businesses, and individuals. I discovered another way to communicate meaningful messages—this time through visual design.
Yet somewhere deep inside, that desire to return to broadcasting never disappeared.
And that’s where Light & Grace Podcast comes into the story.
Over the years, my faith has taught me that life isn’t always easy. We encounter disappointments, challenges, difficult questions, and seasons when we don’t understand what God is doing. But I’ve also learned that His grace is greater than our struggles, and His light can shine even in life’s darkest moments.
Light & Grace Podcast was born from my desire to bring people together through authentic conversations about faith, life, and the world around us.
Through interviews, biblical devotionals, and roundtable discussions, I want to create a place where we can explore important issues, hear inspiring stories, encourage one another, and approach difficult conversations with both truth and grace.
I don’t claim to have all the answers. I’m simply someone who loves God, loves people, enjoys a meaningful conversation, and believes we can learn something from one another.
My hope is that every episode leaves you with something valuable—perhaps a new perspective, a little encouragement, a deeper understanding of Scripture, or simply the reminder that you’re not walking through life alone.
I believe God has given me another opportunity to do something I love, and I’m excited to see where He leads this journey.
